My favorite is “Amma Amma Taye”. It’s very powerful and expresses what Amma is.
Another one that I like so much is, “Devi Sharanam” (I’m not sure that this is exact the name). The words are: “Devi Sharanam, Durge Sharanam, Kali Sharanam, Lakshmi Sharanam, Sharanam Sharanam Sharanam Sharanam Sharanam Sharanam Amma, Sharanam Sharanam Amma…….” Does anyone know the exact name of this bhajan?

When I am utterly focused on the Blessed Amma during Bhajans it does not matter what Bhajan it is. That is the point, One should be lost in the moment as the sun is going into hiding and darkness is enveloping your part of the earth, and Bhajans fill ‘everything’ with bliss. Only the ‘personality’ can choose a Bhajan.

Almost all bhajans except most english ones. I am not comfortable with those, I don’t know why! Maybe it’s because everyone around you can understand exactly what you’re singing!
My favorite two are Kalina Kanan (Amma herself wrote it.) and Jai Jai Janani (World tour 07)

I cannot name just one.. I like a whole lot of them…
Latest favorite has been “Mata Rani Ne”…
All time favorites have been a few including “Vedambike namo Nadambike”, “Dhanya Dhanye Janani”, “Tan Man ki Pushpanjali lekar”, “Kadutha Shogam” and “Jhilam Jhilam”….

My goodness, there are so very many. Of the newer ones, my favorite is Man Re. Of the older ones, Amma Nin Rupam and Albhuta Charitre–both very powerful in their own way. Whatever would we do without Amma’s bhajans–my number one sadhana.

Mata Rani is my favorite of this year. I like it so much the way Mother sings this. It gives me so much power and joy! Last year it was an Enlish bajan; Mother of all. I cried and cried with that one, it helps me to feel protected and loved. Maitri

You know. I love Amma’s bhajans. All of them are so soothing on your soul. My favorite would be Ambe Jagadambe. It’s upbeat and is simple to follow. I also love Where Can I Go?. It is so true. If this is not the place where tears are understood, where CAN I go to cry?

The list of favourite Bhajans is too long….
However I would say that ‘feelwise’, the recent favourite is the most popular Punjabi Bhajan “Mata Rani”…. and it is a treat to watch Amma singing this Bhajan during Darshans…

Another one of my favourite is the Malayalam Bhajan ” Omkaara Divya porulae….” The words of this Bhajan convey a lot of Amma messages… This Bhajan could be otherwise called as “Stairway to Moksha”….

All Amma Bhajans are favourite for me. However, “MANASA VACHA KARMANA” I like the most because more often I get the blissful state whenever I hear or sing this bhajan. it’s so moving.

My favourite bhajan is ‘Oru Nalum Piriyattor’.Its such a lovely song and especially when amma sings it…………..!Cant Explain in words!!!The second one is “Kattutta Sokamam” when swamiji sings it at the end of Devi Bhava and amma is showering Flowers on us.Those moments have become soooo rare in India now.

As long as I listen to Amma’s soulful or rather soul-lifting voice, any bhajan would do for me. She imparts devotional fervour even to the worst tuned song.

its AMMA s song about AMMA… Its so intense and DEEP… TRUTH said in few Simple words….
it always reminds us to go deep into ourself and be with AMMA for eternity.
    As AMMA Says:
“Oh, my darling, come to Me, leaving all other works. You are always mine.”

For me, not knowing the languages, it’s always been the melody of a bhajan that grabs me. De Darshan Ma was one of my first favorites - ‘Ghod me teri ham ko basalo Ma….’ - the melody of this line still brings tears to my eyes. The words mean ‘Let me rest in your lap’…sigh… And it’s the bhajan I would use to practice endless hours of kaymine playing. ‘Samasta Papa Nashanam always brings back fond memories of my first days of meeting Amma. It was the bhajan Sw. Poornamritananda taught during the Rhode Island Retreat in 1997 ‘Amme I Jivande Kannunir Oppuvan’ always stirs my soul with its mournful melody. The list goes on……

answer should be “all”; but still ,some lines from the bhajan ‘ PALI VEEZHUNNA NIN’ constantly reminds me of my situation.the meaning is: “I’m one among the many waves which have come to serve Your Lotus Feet. I longed to merge in You ,with out knowing how far You are!”

Each year I seem to have a changing list of favourite Bhajans. One of the earliest Bhajans I liked very much was “Sunle Pukar”. Then came my attachment to the Malayalam bhajans like “Albuta charitre”, “Ayikulil Dinakaran Maranju”, “Parasahsra hridayangalil” etc. Since I have never been very good at understanding the meanings of songs, now I am slowly growing to enjoy the lyrics of songs. So now everything is a favorite and I let my inner Amma point me to songs I can appreciate. BTW Krishna Bhajans are my all-time favorites too!

I’m a little picky - Amma has to be singing with Swamiji (Amritapuri is the preferred place) and then I like the slow bhajans like - Airkullil, Oru Nalum and the faster bhajans like Ambe Jagadambe & Jai Jai Janani.

Great question! It all depends on my mood really. From the 2006-June 2007- it was Manasa Vaca. In late June 2007 - it changed to Ni Endri (World Tour 2007 Vol 2 track 8). At the end of July to now, it is still Ni Endri and on days when I am a little happier, it is JaI Jai Jananni :)

    aishwaryacanada Says:

for me it is manasa vacha - the first time i heard amma sing it, i’d just gotten some news about a mentally ill family member who had tried to commit suicide. I was in India and wishing i could help him but felt helpless because i was so far away. Then that evening Amma sang this beautiful mournful song that had a translation about ‘please save me before i become a lunatic’ and ‘i don’t want this life’ and i felt like she knew and understood everything. ever since that bhajan has been special to me.
