Christmas is the birth of Jesus. It’s the season of giving, sharing, and happiness. It’s a time when you bring families together and have a good time. I just hate all the marketing going on at this time. All the stores have crazy sales for people just to buy and buy. Americans are forgetting the true meaning of Christmas. They forget the holiness and how easy it is to be content with making others happy. I love Christmas!

We all begin our return to God veiled in matter. Thru the union of the masculine/feminine we are to walk in humility. We exile from the world’s way of knowing. The Christ is swaddled within and is found by those that diligently seek. Wisdom from the East has the capacity to find and recognize the true Christ whereas the pursuit of domination and worldly power would destroy the Christ child. Christmas is God’s mercy revealing and returning the purest form of love through matter. God is with us, and God is within. Amma and Jesus are both Christmas stories.

Christmas is a reminder to give of ourselves, expecting nothing in return!

Over the years, the meaning of Christmas has dramatically changed. Having been brought up Jewish, Christmas was the ‘other’ holiday - except that we had days off from school, a trip to NYC or Florida, great Xmas specials on TV. Plus there were all the Christmas light displays in the neighborhood But it wasn’t until I met Amma, that I began to understand more about Christmas and the various forms of Christianity. Bhakti, Surrender, Faith - in a higher being, a higher truth. For millions, Christmas is a reminder that there is a God - who incarnates - who Loves us and who has infinite compassion, whose sole purpose is to help us reach the goal.

Remembering the birth of a great brother who died on the cross some 2000 years back.
He started a revolution. He tried to change human minds… and he did succeed to a great extend…
    HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!

In this world of Maya, Christmas is just another day.
It brings much pain having lived in America. I feel that most Hindus celebrate this day because it means something to another person. However, it is just another day.

Christmas is a time for giving gifts, and not just material ones.
Christmas is a time to remember that a mahatma was born 2008 years ago, who gave his life to uplift humanity.
Namah Shivaya to all, and a Merry Christmas!!

Birth of the Son of God, (a star in the galaxy of saints) or who made His first visit on this day on this earth.

It is on the winter night of 24th Dec 1886, that Ramakrishna Paramhansji spiritual sons, Narendra & his brother disciples, rejuvenated the SANYASA tradition by taking monastic vows in front of FIRE. As Swamiji has remarked, the day of birth of Jesus Christ - epitome of Sacrifice- adds auspiciousness to this occasion.
Look at power of this great HINDU [SANATHANA] DHARMA to assimilate the virtues of all FAITHS / RELIGIONS of the world without letting lose its identity. AMMA has rightly given a very noble place to this occasion in order to UNDERLINE the relevance of TYAGA [Sacrifice] for the survival of Universe.

Christmas has become a universal social event where people from all religious traditions exchange gifts, enjoy nice food, have fun, sing and laugh. A good time for humans to express their emotions…
But Christmas, before becoming Santa Claus’ celebrations, was the day when a great Mahatma came to Earth (in a very humble way) bringing a universal message of Love and selflesness, a call to give priority to the eternal spirit over our temporary material existence…
Spiritual people should remember this priority and higher purpose of life!

    Om Amirteswariye Namaha
It is remembering a Mahatma on his birth day. One who showed compassion even during extreme hardships. Leelas of Infant jesus like unnikannan is also delight to see and hear about. Symbolically an infant has to be born in our hearts so that our actions will have innocence of a child.
In many ways he has similarites to Lord Krishna. He was born in a foresaken place. Had a tragic end. It seems to me that his message is to arise out of influence of Trigunas. Holy cross symbolises trigunas. We have to reach beyond trigunas. Now at this time we are lucky to have Amma to take us to that awakened or arised state …

Christmas is one more special day to celebrate joy, togetherness, peace, love and selflessness… It is a day that reminds us of one more Mahatma who embodied these qualities in Him… It is one more day to bond and reunite… to forgive and forget… to love and serve and to pray for the wellness of all beings… “Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu”.

    Merry Christmas!

Nowadays, Christmas is about exchanging gifts, mall decorations and over eating. To me, Christmas is time to reflect on the selfless love of Christ, His sacrifice and ultimate surrender to God. In our daily life, we should remember and try to emulate this. Christmas is just a day to re-enforce these teaching. :) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all bloggers…:)
