Oh! there isn’t just one planet. There are universes with planets like the Earth where the Beings live with different forms of bodies to work out the karmic deeds. The factor time for these various beings is also different. They do have birth and death till they take the form of a human body.
sripati Says:Such is the value of life on Earth. Living with AMMA leads to transcending the dismal cycles of birth and death which are only w.r.t. time and space limitations…

I guess there are many ways to answer this. Spritually, indeed from the prayer ‘Lokah Samastah Sukinau Bhavantu,’ there is life everywhere, in different forms, in different universes, and in different dimensions. From a scientific standpoint, science tends to focus on ‘life as we know it’ - so for life to be physically similar to us, the planetary conditions and evolutionary processes would have to be exactly the same. When such life is found, it will shake the religious, scientific, and philosophical foundations of the world unless society as a whole has evoloved enough to understand and accept it.

…….only Amma knows…..

Not just on one planet but on thousands if not millions of other planets with intelligent life in different galaxies! Perhaps many of us had our previous lives played out in some planet thousands of light years away from Earth! Who knows? Amma does!

I think there is definitely life on more than just our small planet. Whether or not the beings are built like us, I don’t know, but they would have the capacity in one way or other to work through karma by taking form. The universe is God’s body, even while God transcends the universe, so all beings (on Earth or not) are God’s children. Of course there could be human-like beings with all the same capabilities as us to progress spiritually as well, only God knows.

Wow.. i think there are plenty of other ‘worlds’. There are places that are probably much better than ours. They might be similar, they might be different than ours. I really don’t know how it would affect us. Maybe they will help us reach divinity as a world together. Living with Amma makes it easy for us and we are very gifted to have so many Mahatmas living on this earth right now.

When we are under the umbrella of AMMA how does it matter there is another planet or not, will it have positive or negative effect because under the guidance of our beloved AMMA we will releaize our Innerself and the circle of death and birth will diminish automatically. I lay myself beneath the lotus feet of my Darling AMMA.

It’s evident that there are planets; even galaxies, as stated in the scriptures. Few years back Amma was talking in a different unknown language looking up in the sky [I read it in one of Amma’s books]. Only Amma can answer for that. Thenceforth I believe that there are lives in another planets. Also all incarnations of God and/or Goddess are active at the same time in different planets. Amma Sharanam. I would be happy if any body staying at Amritapuri raise this question to Amma and post the answer in the blog.

Om Lokah Samasthah Sukhino Bhavanthu
jeymaa Says:The loose meaning is “May All Beings on ALL Worlds be Peaceful and Happy”.
“All Worlds” is obvious to add the thought of more than Earth!
Amma during Bhajans is not just sitting in front of u in Vallikkavu or at a program in India, Our Blessed Guru is sitting in Bhajans on many worlds at this same moment.

A wonderful thought provoking question it is. We know little about this solar system related to earth. There should be a definite cause for this system as such life on earth. We can assume there is life on other planets suitable to its atmospheric conditions but difficult to say life on other planets similar to the life on earth. We heard a story of King Dasaratha went to Saturn and praised Lord Saniswara at his abode that means there is life on Saturn. This is real or symbolic representation is secondary. Human knowledge is limited, so how we know under what cause The Providence created these planets, galaxies.
susannahpryce Says:Due to Life on earth there is no physical effect to the life on other planets, and sure the other way also.

Yes I believe there is life on other planets. Whether or not there are beings similar to us I do not know. If such a fact were true it believes it would affect us on a subtle energetic level.

When i was a child i used to wonder why people would think that there is no life in other planets…” People may look just different and have no need of water” i thought.
marcie Says:March 4th, 2008 at 2:19 am
maybe. . .and if we found out for sure i might miss the question. I have liked the question since i was s small child and looking up to the vast star glowed sky where curiosity would expand the mind with open unknowing. But probably if we found out for sure, there would be even more questions and deeper levels of curosity. I am okay with it either way.

Intuitively, I feel there must be more planets and beings like us. Nothing in the universe is just one. We find our replicas in all kinds of places. The universe is probably filled with replicas of everything, every being, planet and universes. It is also filled with opposites - probably. God loves diversity. It would be good to discover the human race on another planet, especially, living peacefully with other creatures and with people from other planets. (Maybe they would be in the Satyuga phase!) The human race here would then know that actually we have achieved very little and there are better ways of living.

I think the root of all the possibilities lie in the Universal mind. “As the mind imagines, so the manifestation expands”. I believe Earth is at a stage where the excitement of discovering other life on the solar system(s) is so strong that it is bound to be found very soon. So the mind goes on imagining things as it continues its journey through the ages and keeps desiring and manifesting new realities. But thankfully the one thing that will remain the same is the journey inward and the discovery that there is just one consciousness behind all.

In the Lalithasahasranama the 620th Manthra is very clear on the issue. It says : Aneka Koti Brahmhanda Jananyai Namah”. Devi is glorified as the Mother of several millions of worlds…… Do not our encient texts like the upanishads & puranas talk of differents worlds wherein live different kinds of elevated being like the Kinnaras, Gandharvas, Vidyadharas, Yakshaas etc ?. There is every reason to believe that the planet earth is just one among other millions of such other planets.
bluvisnu Says:March 14th, 2008 at 12:43 am
i think there is life on all the planets in all the galaxies in all the universes even in our solar system because the life is made to live, and so the life can live anywhere because the whole creation is made for the life to develop in different shapes according to the place. the life wants to live!
